“I am an optimistic and determined person. I want to achieve a position that no one has achieved before. My major study is law and I graduated from Aleppo University with incredible success. I chose that field of studies because I feel some degree of responsibility towards human rights protection. I am planning to go to the United Kingdom in order to continue my academic studies so I am currently preparing for the IELTS exam. The fact that I did not have an English native speaker to improve my English speaking skills with might be the reason why I faced some obstacles. In all honesty, the HEEAP course offered by the HOPES project was useful and I suppose the reason has something to do with the fact that the majority of teachers were professional which helped me a lot to improve my pronunciation. Language is important because it is the key to the whole world. My message to other students facing the same difficulties is to keep practicing a lot and to not quit because you will hopefully make a difference.”
