“I was born and lived in a big family until 18 years old. I have not seen them for 6 years now because of the war and crisis in my country and because of the harsh circumstances but Technology has made the world feel like a town, and I am always in touch with them. Every morning, I hear their prayers, and every night, we discuss our daily life. It saddens me, but I learned a lot from living abroad. I faced many difficulties and I became more experienced and stronger. At first, I never dreamt or aspired to study pharmacy. However, I did not have the chance to do what I wanted, studying human medicine. Therefore, I studied pharmacy as my parents wanted, but the more I discovered it by studying and attending conferences, the more I was passionate and serious about it, and I succeeded. Challenges started since secondary school. I was about to obtain my secondary education certificate, but the war broke out in my country. I used to live in a small village where no interest was given to school students. The program was new and I had to study alone without going to any institution or taking any course. Then, I started the pharmacy program in Yemen, where the war also broke out. I decided to move to Jordan to continue my studies, and was faced with many difficulties, because Yemen and Jordan were very different, in terms of curricula, teaching methods, lectures and students. This program helped me pursue my studies during the hardest period of my life. I would like to thank all those who contributed to the launch of the HOPES program. I used to feel that everyone around me saw me as a loser, and thought that I will not succeed in my studies. However, I challenged everyone, and myself and didn’t fail, but succeeded and proved to myself and others that I am a successful man, and that there’s no room for failure in my life. In the future, I want to pursue higher studies, Master’s and Doctoral studies, and to serve people with the education I acquired. In addition, I want to have my own pharmaceutical plant. My message to other students facing the same difficulties is that key to success is not easy. One must work hard and not give up no matter how hard or cruel the circumstances and no matter how big the difficulties or challenges. You are stronger, and who created a hard way has given you the strength to cross it.”
